Love Indie Authors, exclusive covers and supporting small businesses? Then this is the box for you! Delivering book boxes to Canada and the USA every quarter. Shadow and Spice is our quarterly box that combines your love of books with your love of small business hand made gifts.
Choose from our Full-Sized Boxes, which come with THREE books and a minimum of 4-6 gifts, or our Single Book Boxes!

What you Get:
The Full-Sized Box will come with three books in the genre of your choosing and a minimum of 4-6 gifts. These will highlight Canadian artists, artisans, makers and bakers and can include: self-care items, candies, chocolates, drinks, art prints, stickers, pens, notebooks, journals, mugs, home items, jewellery and more!
The Single Book Box will resemble a traditional book box from other retailers, one book, plus curated Canadian-made loot and treats! I would call it mini compared to the “Full Quarterly Book Box”, but there is nothing mini about it!
What extra items will be included? We are committed to supporting Indie authors from around the world, Canadian authors, artists and publishers, so all of our boxes will be highlighting artists, artisans, makers and bakers and can include self-care items, candies, chocolates, drinks, art prints, stickers, pens, notebooks, journals, mugs, home items, jewellery and more!

Is this a renewing Subscription?
No. These boxes are a one-time purchase option only at this time.
How often are boxes available?
We will have our “Full-Sized Boxes” and “Single Book Boxes” shipping out every quarter. So that is March, June, September and December! That being said, join our newsletter for exclusive Author Boxes with full series that may (and will) pop up outside of our normal shipping shedule.
Can I build my own box?
In 2023 we are working on that feature. For now, you can add one of our available book to your cart and check out.
How does shipping work?
Each quarter your selected book box will be mailed via trackable Canada Post by the tenth of the month.
Shipping is included in the cost, so no extra charges at checkout!
No international shipping at this time.
What will come in each box?
It is going to depend on the box you pick. So here is the breakdown.
FULL-SIZED BOX: When we say this box is huge, we mean it! Each box will contain three different books in the genre of your choice by indie authors from Canada and around the world. We are committed to supporting Canadian artists, so we guarantee that each box will contain a minimum of one book by a Canadian author or publisher.
We are also filling your box with loot from Canadian small businesses. These can (and will) be full-sized bath products, self-care items, treats, drinks and more! Each full-sized box will have at least 4 items included along with the books and author swag. It’s a big box!
SINGLE BOOK BOX: This will look like your traditional book box from other retailers. We would call it mini compared to the Full Quarterly Box, but it definitely isn’t. Each box will contain one book of your choice. We have Canadian authors, publishers and international authors to pick from. We are also filling your box with loot from Canadian small businesses. These can (and will) be full-sized bath products, self-care items, treats, drinks and more! Each full-sized box will have 3-4 items included along with the books and author swag. See, it’s still a big box!
